A side-event for the International Civil Society Week 2017

As part of the ICSWin Suva, Fiji, the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) is organising a side-event on climate-induced displacement to bring together civil society, governments institutions, regional organisations and academics.
After a special introduction by former President of Kiribati, Anote Tong, the discussions will focus on ways to improve mobility options, reduce costs, improve safety, security, access to justice, and steps required in anticipation of climate migration.
The event will also discuss a Declaration for Climate-Induced Displacementthat is expected to create an influential support base to advocate for the inclusion of provisions related to climate-induced human mobility in the global compact on Safe, Regular and Orderly Migration.
The side-event will be in English and translated into French and Spanish.
