On Friday 20th February 2015 members of the Pacific Islands Development Forum together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs the Honorable Ratu Inoke Kubuabola farewell the inaugural Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Development Forum Mr Feleti Teo OBE, in a reception at the PIDF Secretariat attended by members of the diplomatic corp, development partners and other senior public sector, private sector and civil society officials.
In his farewell speech, the Minister paid tribute to the work done by Mr Teo during his period of service with the PIDF Secretariat. He also congratulated Mr Teo on his new appointment as the new Executive Director of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC).
Speaking on behalf of the PIDF the High Commissioner for Kiribati to Fiji and Member of the PIDF Senior Officials Committee H.E. Reteta Rimon also paid tribute to Mr Teo’s leadership of the young organization. She noted the major achievements of the PIDF under Mr Teo’s stewardship which saw the organization emerge as a key development space for the Pacific.
Mr Teo leaves on Tuesday 24th February to take up his new appointment with the WCPFC in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia on 5th March 2015.
