SUVA, 19 FEBRUARY 2015 (FIJI LIVE) — Fiji has extended a Ministerial level invitation to the Government of the United Arab Emirates to participate at the third Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF) Leaders Summit in Fiji in August.

“As the Pacific Islands falter in varying degrees on the achievement of their respective Millennium Development Goals the PIDF stands ready to provide the much needed impetus for development.”Bainimarama also offered Fiji’s assistance in establishing a diplomatic presence of UAE in Suva.

“In light of our flourishing bilateral relations Fiji stands ready to assist the United Arab Emirates should it consider establishing a ‘diplomatic presence in Suva, as the hub of the South Pacific, to serve the PSIDS region. This will not only further strengthen our bilateral relations but more so enhance UAE’s strategic presence in the region,” said Bainimarama…
